  1. Go to Settings -> Integrations.
  2. Install Slack.
  3. Sync users by email, or ask users to run /supervisible link to check their account link.
  4. Ask users to enable Slack channels in Notification Preferences.
  5. Optional: configure the OOO channel in Settings -> Time Off.
  6. Optional: map project channels from a project notification bell.

Slash Commands

CommandWhat it does
/supervisible timeoffOpens a Slack modal for creating a time-off request.
/supervisible timeoff digestPosts this week's team time-off summary to the current channel.
/supervisible statusShows your pending requests, upcoming time off, and active project context.
/supervisible linkChecks whether your Slack account is linked to Supervisible.

Approvals

Slack approval buttons acknowledge quickly, then update Supervisible in the background. Rejecting a request opens a modal to collect a reason.

OOO Announcements

When an approved request qualifies for announcement, Supervisible can post a message to the configured OOO Slack channel. Scheduled weekly digests can summarize people currently out, leaving soon, recently returned, and public holidays. Admins can choose the leaving-soon and recently-returned windows from Settings -> Time Off.

Project Channels

Project channels are configured from the project notification bell. The user must be able to manage the project and the workspace must already have Slack installed.

When you connect a project channel, Slack asks you to choose a channel and grants Supervisible an incoming webhook for that channel. The Slack workspace must match the workspace already connected to Supervisible. A project can have one mapped Slack channel at a time.

After a channel is connected, choose which shared events should post there:

  • Project updates.
  • Date changes.
  • Status changes.
  • Team changes.
  • Target date reminders.

The first connection enables project updates, date changes, and status changes. You can turn project notifications off while keeping the channel connected, change the channel, or disconnect it. Personal Slack DMs are controlled separately in Notification Preferences.

Privacy

Slack notifications respect Supervisible roles and each user's notification channel settings. Project-channel notifications use the project's shared channel settings, and sensitive time-off details stay hidden where the app hides them.
