Notifications and Inbox
Inbox is the in-app notification center. It collects requests, mentions, assignments, project updates, date changes, and reminders that need attention.
Notification Types

Inbox Actions
From Inbox you can:
- Mark notifications read or unread.
- Archive one notification.
- Archive all read notifications.
- Delete notifications.
- Restore recently deleted notifications where supported.
- Select a notification to preview the detail pane.
- Use the expand button in the detail header to open the related full page when one exists.
- Use inline links inside the detail body for context that has no standalone notification page, such as project-hour requests.
Unread counts update the sidebar badge as you process items.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Inbox supports page-level keyboard shortcuts when focus is not inside a text field:
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| J | Select the next notification. |
| K | Select the previous notification. |
| U | Toggle read status. |
| Backspace | Delete the selected notification. |
Open the keyboard shortcuts dialog with ? to see the shortcuts available on the current page.
Channels
Supervisible supports three notification channels:
- In-app: Inbox and sidebar unread count.
- Email: Transactional emails for enabled types, with direct links to the related request, project, or assignment when available.
- Slack: Direct messages and channel notifications when Slack is installed and mapped.
Each user controls channels in Notification Preferences. Target date reminders begin enabled for accountable roles: organization owners, admins, and managers for every Active project, plus project managers and account managers for the projects they manage. Each recipient can turn Inbox, email, or Slack DM off independently.
Slack and Project Channels
Slack can deliver direct messages for personal notifications and mapped project-channel notifications for shared project activity. Personal Slack DMs follow the recipient's notification preferences. Project channels have their own event selection on the project notification bell.
Project-channel notifications can include project updates, date changes, status changes, team changes, and target date reminders. They are skipped for completed and cancelled projects, except for the final status-change notification that closes the project.
Freelancer Behavior
Freelancer users do not receive time-off notifications in the same way full team members do. The app excludes time-off notification types from freelancer inbox counts.
